This is primarily so that something like `df' can pass over the mount table without producing errors or worse, "abort, retry" dialog boxes. After I sent that mail it occurred to me that maybe it would be "nicer" to make mount work more like UNIX mount. That would mean requiring that if you say "mount c: /c", the /c directory would have to exist. Floppies could have some kind of automount option, like UNIX.
