I normally use another editor for my own work, but I use Emacs when updating
source from someone else because it tends to be more careful about
preserving tabs and the like.  You can download a version for Win32 from
ftp://ftp.cs.washington.edu/pub/ntmacs .  Don't let the 'NT' scare you, I've
used it under Win95 as well.
