I'm not quite sure what is being asked for here.  If you have a default
the only way to override it is to do something specific like mount the
directory.

Or, you can remote using a different automount prefix and a different mode.

mount -t \\.\a: /dev/fd0

should work fine.  Assuming I've got the \\ syntax right.

I'm having a really hard time understanding why this topic generates so
much controversy.  All we have to do is set up a simple set of rules and
stick with them.

Just to reiterate.  I know that previous releases have had problems with
consistent binmode behavior.  I have tried, in recent snapshots, to make
this all behave the way I've outlined in previous email.
