IMO once we have self-describing packages - a la rpm/deb then the local-install functionality can change radically - we make two statements: 1) If you want current local install w/no setup.ini behaviour, save your current setup.exe. It's going away. 2) Local installs w/no setup.ini get all the important package metadata, including categories and dependencies by reading the metadata from the local packages. We also provide a simple tool to add that metadata when creating those packages. (and yes, it is possible that those packages will be pure rpm/deb files, but that is an orthogonal issue). Rob
