I'm no rsync big expert right now (the "port" was OOB), but I plan to be
(to correct also that spurious error message).
CygWin ML is a bit "too heavy traffic" for me to read, but I can
accomodate a mail filter for every message that contains "rsync" to read
all of them.

I have uploaded version 2.4.6 of the open source utility that provides
fast incremental file transfer.

It is tested and perfectly functional on Windows2000, but sometimes a
strange "Read error" appears.
That error appears after the actual transfer is finished (this can be
confirmed using -vvv) and gives no problem in transfer reliability.

To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on
the http://cygwin.com web page.  This downloads setup.exe to your
system.

Run setup and answer all of the questions.

Note that if this is the first time that you've run the new GUI version
of setup, it will currently download the whole cygwin net release again.

After this point it will only download what is needed.

mailing list at:  cygwin AT cygwin DOT com .  I would appreciate if you would
use this mailing list rather than emailing me directly.  This includes
ideas and comments about the setup utility or Cygwin in general.
