This version is a refresh from the last version of gdb which was released in April of 2001. It has a lot of bug fixes and probably some new bugs. I've made this available because, while the insight support is not quite right, gcc has been evolving and needs a debugger to keep pace with it. So, you can consider the 'gdb' command-line part of the package to be up-to-date but the 'insight' version is experimental. Recent changes in gdb-land make 'gdb' and 'insight' into two separate commands. (I'm saying this now even though I know that there will still be questions about this) Typing 'gdb' gives you the command line debugger which should work fine. Typing 'insight' will give you the GUI debugger which is a tad bit flaky. Some people are claiming to use insight with few problems. YMMV. To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Then, run setup and answer all of the questions. gdb is located in the "Devel" category. Click on this category to install gdb if it is not already installed. If gdb is installed, it will be updated automatically. If you have questions or comments, please send them to the Cygwin mailing list at: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com . I would appreciate it if you would use this mailing list rather than emailing me directly. This includes ideas and comments about the setup utility or Cygwin in general. *** CYGWIN-ANNOUNCE UNSUBSCRIBE INFO *** If you want to unsubscribe from the cygwin-announce mailing list, look at the "List-Unsubscribe: " tag in the email header of this message.
