Your contribution counts double the next 3 days! https://sfconservancy.org/sustainer/#YearInReview See under "Highlights From Our Member Projects" how the Software Freedom Conservancy has helped Sourceware (and others) this year. Every quarter we provide a summary of news about Sourceware and roadmap updates https://sourceware.org/sourceware-25-roadmap.html - More and bigger hardware - Open forge registration - Sourceware @ Fosdem - Signed-commit census leaderboard - Sourceware Organization, Contact and Open Office hours = More and bigger hardware On Friday 28 November various sourceware.org, cygwin.com, gcc.gnu.org, dwarfstd.org, elfutils.org and valgrind.org services were moved on a new (bigger) VM-first server in a new datacenter. The current migration of services to a new datacenter onto a bigger server is part of a larger effort to upgrade the Sourceware hardware, services and security isolation. The Sourceware Project Leadership Committee has been working closely together with the overseers, Software Freedom Conservancy, FSF sysadmins, Red Hat IT (https://osci.io) and OSUOSL over the last couple of months extending the number of servers and migrating servers to new datacenters, with more to come in 2026. In the new year OSUOSL will replace our two smaller x86_64 container builders sourceware-builder1 and sourceware-builder2 machines with a larger sourceware-builder3 (2x28 core, 112 thread, 768GB RAM) machine which will be used for buildbot builders and forgejo action runners to make it possible to do full bootrap checks. See also https://sourceware.org/sourceware-wiki/Migration2025/ and https://sourceware.org/sourceware-wiki/OpenHouse2025 = Open forge registration One issue with forge.sourceware.org was that you already needed to have an Sourceware account. This has been fixed. Anybody can register an account on the forge now. But a newly registered user will have to be added to the Contributors Team by an Owner or Admin of the org or repo before they can see, fork, create merge requests and run actions. More projects now have more action runners. = Sourceware @ Fosdem Various Sourceware projects will be present at Fosdem plus some overseers and of course Conservancy staff. Sourceware itself will share a stand with the Software Freedom Conservancy. We will again have stickers available! Please contact Mark if you like to provide hosted project stickers or other goodies to share. Various projects will present in the GCC (GNU Toolchain) devroom https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/track/gcc-gnu-toolchain/ RISC-V, DWARF6, Fibers, Algol68, libgomp, Static Analyzer. But also valgrind for BSD and binutils and newlib for retrocomputing devrooms. https://fosdem.org/2026/ Brussels / Sat 31 January & Sun 1 February = Signed-commit census leaderboard How is your project doing on signed commits? analyzing branch HEAD since 2025-01-01 cygwin-calm 47 commits 47 signed 100% 1 committers 1 signers 100% cygwin-setup 45 commits 45 signed 100% 2 committers 2 signers 100% gitsigur 6 commits 6 signed 100% 1 committers 1 signers 100% systemtap 105 commits 88 signed 83% 5 committers 4 signers 80% annobin 56 commits 47 signed 83% 2 committers 1 signers 50% bunsen 246 commits 193 signed 78% 2 committers 2 signers 100% elfutils 176 commits 71 signed 40% 4 committers 2 signers 50% builder 77 commits 18 signed 23% 4 committers 3 signers 75% lvm2 954 commits 67 signed 7% 7 committers 1 signers 14% newlib-cygwin 512 commits 40 signed 7% 14 committers 2 signers 14% gcc 9596 commits 702 signed 7% 192 committers 11 signers 5% debugedit 19 commits 1 signed 5% 2 committers 1 signers 50% glibc 1408 commits 75 signed 5% 40 committers 2 signers 5% libabigail 110 commits 4 signed 3% 2 committers 1 signers 50% binutils-gdb 4040 commits 109 signed 2% 94 committers 5 signers 5% bzip2 2 commits 0 signed 0% 1 committers 0 signers 0% cgen 1 commits 0 signed 0% 1 committers 0 signers 0% dwz 9 commits 0 signed 0% 2 committers 0 signers 0% forge 21 commits 0 signed 0% 1 committers 0 signers 0% gnu-gabi 1 commits 0 signed 0% 1 committers 0 signers 0% insight 75 commits 0 signed 0% 1 committers 0 signers 0% valgrind 822 commits 0 signed 0% 7 committers 0 signers 0% = Sourceware Organization, Contact and Open Office hours We can be reached through irc, email and bugzilla https://sourceware.org/mission.html#organization There is also a fediverse account for for announcements, notices about downtime and temporary issues with our network. https://fosstodon.org/@sourceware Every second Friday of the month is the Sourceware Overseers Open Office hour in #overseers on irc.libera.chat from 16:00 till 17:00 UTC.
