The following packages have been added to the Cygwin distribution:

* wv-1.2.9-2
* libwv1.2_4-1.2.9-2
* libwv-devel-1.2.9-2

wvWare includes a library and sample apps that convert MS Word 2,6,7,8,9
files to html and latex. The Word 2 conversion is still incomplete (no
formatting), but it will do a passable job extracting the text, which is
what you probably want anyway.
