After some manipulations with a newly installed Cygwin, I've encountered an issue similar to e.g. http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.distributed.opennebula.user/5532 What i did was that I've made %Cygwin%/home a directory junction of C:/Users Basically, when a terminal is started, the screen is polluted by a lot of errors similar to shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory Error messages go away, when I set current working directory of a mintty shortcut to %Cygwin% directory, or make an entry in /etc/fstab to match the binding. In my case, C:/Users /home ntfs binary,posix=0,noacl,nouser 0 0 -- WBR, Andrey Repin (anrdaemon AT freemail DOT ru) 29.06.2013, <01:40> Sorry for my terrible english... -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
