If the target file system is shared via a Samba mount, then you can
add the following to your /etc/fstab of cygwin:

//HOST_MACHINE/PATH/TO/SHARED_FOLDER /mnt/SOME_NAME smbfs
binary,notexec,posix=0 0 0

NOTE: The values in all uppercase should be changed to reflect the
appropriate values.
