Binaries from the Cygwin 1.5.x series are compatible with 1.7.x. There is no reason that you cannot use them. The only thing to keep in mind is if there is a newer version available for 1.7.x, as there is with make, then you'll be using an unsupported version. So if you run into a problem, you'll need to test that it is reproducible with the current version before reporting it here. -- Larry _____________________________________________________________________ A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting annoying in email? -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
