We have two fairly identical windows XP boxes. =A0On mine, cygwin is working
beautifully, with X. =A0My coworker tried, but she didn't have admin rights
and X wouldn't install right. Then she got the coveted admin rights, so we
tried to re-install. =A0It failed. =A0So we thought we would install clean,
deleting c:\cygwin and starting over. =A0The installation fails in the
middle with the following error:


Microsoft visual c++ runtime library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe
? =A0 =A0 =A0 This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in=
 an
unusual way =A0 =A0 11:09:10 AM


The system has recently been patched to XP service pack 3, Release version
4.2.162.2 if that helps.

I have Microsoft Visual Studio 2003.net and 2005 installed. =A0She does not.
How can I view a log so we can determine what DLL is failing?  Clearly
there has to be something different between our two machines.
