From licensing standpoint if the exception that opensource software can use the Cygwin library applies to this use I guess it would be good enough for me. From technical standpoint I can't locate the authentication package in my code but that might be an issue with the code. I see the cyglsa.dll installed in lsass.exe and don't see cygwin1.dll there so I guess this is self-contained service that could be used independently of Cygwin. Is there a sample code that connects to LSA and invokes the package outside of Cygwin? I am not against discussing this one of the Cygwin mailing lists but this is not exactly a Cygwin question so I am not sure if this is appropriate.
