A return code of 255 seems odd.  Maybe a required DLL is missing.  What
is the complete usage message displayed?

What is the output of the following:

ls -l /usr/bin/ssh /bin/ssh
ldd /usr/bin/ssh

What happens when you invoke ssh from a cmd shell?
