I'm trying to compile a very basic kernel.=A0 The source contains 2 files:
mckern.c
mckern_start.asm

These compile into *.o files fine. Here's how (in case it helps solve
the problem):
$ nasm -f aout mckern_start.asm -o mcks.o
$ gcc -c mckern.c -o mckern.o

But when I run the linker with my link.ld file:
$ ld -T link.ld -o mckern.bin mcks.o mckern.o
mcks.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized

What's wrong, and how can I fix it?
