Basically the user name is first set to what defined by Windows. Later in the initialization it gets set to the username defined in /etc/passwd. But only if the name is different in a case-insensitive manner. If the Cygwin user name only differs from the Windows username by case, the name didn't get changed. I fixed that in CVS.
