Also I guess I spoke too soon about other apps not hanging as I have noticed xemacs and xterm hanging when starting (the GUI doesn't open but ctrl-c works to quit them from the terminal I started them from) - it is also happens far less often then ssh and cvs. I've attached a new cygcheck, I know it still says that the zone alarm entry is still present but I don't know of any app that is using it and I don't see any processes running, so I am a bit of a loss as to why that is there.
