The error was occurring reliably on the first, and only the first, login shell
after each reboot.  I installed your revised DLL, rebooted, and opened a login
shell, and the problem didn't occur.

I'll continue to use your DLL for now, and so if the problem is still there I'll
see it and let you know.  A.
