I just tried the chmod function > with DOS paths and it works as expected. Or, more accurately, a limitation of the coreutils .exe magic getting thrown off by the switch to the new cygwin_conv_path. I'm not very concerned about trying to go out of my way to provide bloat in coreutils just to make .exe magic on DOS paths behave nicely, when a unix-style path works just fine. But I'll look into it; I was in the middle of preparing coreutils 7.0-1, so if I can find a simple fix, I might be able to tweak this to work nicer. - -- Don't work too hard, make some time for fun as well!
