I'm trying to use Cygwin to access directories and files within one of these shares, I am a domain admin and should have all the rights I need. The symptoms I'm encountering are that if I cd to a mount point of one of the NAS shares (i.e. /cygdrive/z) and try to do an ls, I get "ls: reading directory .: permission denied". If I cd into a subdirectory that I know is there, it works, but I still can't do an ls. I've run the mkpasswd -d and the mkgroup -d and have set the nontsec and nosmbntsec in the CYGWIN environment variable. I've seen a couple other people who have had the same issue in the past, but there's no solution posted. Please advise. cygcheck -s output: Cygwin Configuration Diagnostics Current System Time: Fri Jun 06 17:58:34 2008 Windows 2003 Server Ver 5.2 Build 3790 Service Pack 1 Path: C:\cygwin\usr\local\bin C:\cygwin\bin C:\cygwin\bin C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin c:\WINDOWS\system32 c:\WINDOWS c:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem c:\Program Files\Intel\DMIX Output from C:\cygwin\bin\id.exe (nontsec) UID: 32488(ron.scruggs) GID: 10513(Domain Users) 10512(Domain Admins) 10513(Domain Users) Output from C:\cygwin\bin\id.exe (ntsec) UID: 32488(ron.scruggs) GID: 10513(Domain Users) 10512(Domain Admins) 10513(Domain Users) SysDir: C:\WINDOWS\system32 WinDir: C:\WINDOWS USER = 'ron.scruggs' PWD = '/home/ron.scruggs' CYGWIN = 'nontsec nosmbntsec' HOME = '/home/ron.scruggs' MAKE_MODE = 'unix' Use '-r' to scan registry c: hd NTFS 139337Mb 7% CP CS UN PA FC d: fd N/A N/A e: cd N/A N/A f: cd N/A N/A x: net NTFS 1089407Mb 75% CP CS UN PA ron_test_vol y: net NTFS 598961Mb 73% CP CS UN PA APS200 z: net NTFS 2097023Mb 4% CP CS UN PA FS200_1 C:\cygwin / system binmode \\us03vofs200\rtv_root /onstor/rtv_root system binmode, noexec C:\cygwin/bin /usr/bin system binmode C:\cygwin/lib /usr/lib system binmode . /cygdrive system binmode, cygdrive Found: C:\cygwin\bin\awk.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\cat.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\cp.exe Not Found: cpp (good!)
