Another way to re-run update-info is to execute
/etc/postinstall/update-info-dir.sh.done.

Ah... The point is that there was no 'dir' in either of the two info
directories I found:
/usr/info, and /usr/share/info, before I edited one myself by hand.

So, possibly this was run once at an early stage, and I should ran it again?
