OK, I just removed cygwin's version of cppunit and built my own like René; it works for me, too. So I guess the package is indeed broken and merits a bug report. Will the package maintainer pick it up from this list? The version of cppunit included in cygwin (1.9.14-1) is a bit old anyway.
