I'm not sure why it worked this time when it didn't work previously on the same system. Of course, with the number of people who use these scripts on a daily basis, I'd assume they should work, and any bugs should be found in short order -- "many eyes make all bugs shallow" -- but unless something changed between my first and second attempts, I would generally expect to get the same result. Since I didn't get the same result, I was wondering what might have changed between my first and second attempts.
