This includes bash scripts that need to parse or output CR. -----Response Message----- I found it surprising, but verified that it is not a Cygwin issue, that d2u (a k a dos2unix) blindly deletes all CRs. Curious why it wouldn't only delete CRs that precede LFs, thus allowing singleton CRs.
