Are you claiming that just reinstalling cygncurses7.dll will fix the OP's original problem with emacs hanging? He was attempting to resolve the problem by performing a rebase, and that lead to further problems (emacs not starting at all). He then did reinstall ncurses and it went back to hanging after some period of time. Do you think ncurses has any bearing on the original hang problem?
