I've run into similar problems with "top" when ssh'ing from Cygwin to Debian 3.1: http://sourceware.org/ml/cygwin/2005-10/msg00432.html http://sourceware.org/ml/cygwin/2005-10/msg00453.html I can't seem to find my post in the Debian archives... So far, no identification of the root cause of the problem. The work-around is to use the rxvt shell in Cygwin rather than Bash.
