NOTICE: ======= This version has Multi-byte/Unicode support enabled in it. This may or may not present problems for existing scripts which assumed a prior behaviour concerning multi-byte characters. If this breaks too many existing user scripts, then I will disable this behaviour in the next build upon request. This release will work with cygwin-1.5.18-1 or later. - Note: 4.3.1 was never released for Cygwin because it was deemed to unstable for my liking in testing under Cygwin. NEWS: ===== 4.3 is a major revision of zsh, branched from the 4.2 series. Much work has gone into supporting multi-byte/Unicode, as well as lots of other fixes. This release includes the following: - Multi-byte/Unicode support. This is the major change for this branch of zsh. Please file bug reports as needed. - Various base bug fixes and enhancements: Sorry, too numerous to list, see ChangeLog link below. - Updated zprofile (based on profile v3.7-1) - Fix to make rand48 random numbers usable on Cygwin. - The following auto-completion commands/functions/types have been added/updated: Completion/Debian/Command/_bts Completion/Debian/Command/_debdiff Completion/Debian/Command/_linda Completion/Debian/Command/_mergechanges Completion/Debian/Command/_schroot Completion/Debian/Command/_wanna-build Completion/Linux/Command/_fusermount Completion/Linux/Command/_sshfs Completion/Linux/Command/_tpb Completion/Linux/Command/_tpconfig Completion/Redhat/Command/_yum Completion/Unix/Command/_arp Completion/Unix/Command/_cp Completion/Unix/Command/_cplay Completion/Unix/Command/_date Completion/Unix/Command/_diffstat Completion/Unix/Command/_getconf Completion/Unix/Command/_imagemagick Completion/Unix/Command/_joe Completion/Unix/Command/_last Completion/Unix/Command/_make Completion/Unix/Command/_man Completion/Unix/Command/_mh Completion/Unix/Command/_mount Completion/Unix/Command/_perforce Completion/Unix/Command/_quilt Completion/Unix/Command/_rsync Completion/Unix/Command/_ssh Completion/Unix/Command/_su Completion/Unix/Command/_surfraw Completion/Unix/Command/_sysctl Completion/Unix/Command/_twisted Completion/Unix/Command/_vorbis Completion/Unix/Type/_hosts Completion/Unix/Type/_locales Completion/Unix/Type/_mailboxes Completion/Unix/Type/_users Functions/MIME/pick-web-browser Functions/MIME/zsh-mime-handler Functions/MIME/zsh-mime-setup Functions/Newuser/zsh-newuser-install Functions/TCP/tcp_read Functions/Zle/define-composed-chars Functions/Zle/keeper - see ChangeLogs: http://www.fruitbat.org/Cygwin/zsh/ChangeLog-4.3.2 http://www.fruitbat.org/Cygwin/zsh/ChangeLog-4.2.6 DESCRIPTION: ============ Zsh is a UNIX command interpreter (shell) usable as an interactive login shell and as a shell script command processor. Of the standard shells, zsh most closely resembles `ksh' but includes many enhancements. Zsh has command line editing, builtin spelling correction, programmable command completion, shell functions (with autoloading), a history mechanism, and a host of other features. UPDATE: ======= To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system.
