How'd you guess? Yes, this was on an XP machine where I have admin privileges. I found it because 'make distcheck' on the m4 package was working for me but failing for others, thanks to automake setting the srcdir tree to read-only when testing a package tarball for VPATH completeness. - -- Life is short - so eat dessert first!
