Wordnet is another Gem on CygWin which I've only just discovered:-

It is a combination of dictionary and thesaurus  (and more)

Check in setup "Text Tools" to see if you've enabled its install.

The wiki article is also useful

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wordnet

The simplest use AFAIK (is overview)

For the word "well"
