Then don't ask for your programs to get compiled under other systems than GNU. Defining _GNU_SOURCE without defining _POSIX_SOURCE just means you only target GNU systems. Maybe, but it's a really _wrong_ approach which cannot but just degrade cygwin's POSIX compliancy.
