After re-building patch 2.5.9 the problem (in the test case) does not appea=

Conclusion: the currently distributed patch 2.5.9 was compiled with perhaps=

older Cygwin environment or at least one that made configure get a different
result to "checking whether system is Windows or MSDOS... (cached) no" resu=
lting
in a patch that works different when files have CR (the test patchfile was a
mixed CR-LF and LF line terminators).
