The information is useful! Have you tried running minicom from a Cygwin xterm window? I find that minicom works pretty well from a Cygwin cmd box. But in an xterm window, I get a kind of a "hang" when I do control-a in minicom. I've tried to track down this problem but my debugger becomes balky when I apply it to minicom.
