Read and follow all of the guidelines found here: >Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FWIW, starting 'sshd' at the command line is generally considered to be a "no-no", at least if you ever plan to run it as a service. And if you have run it as a service in the past, then you're likely to have problems running it from the command line unless you ran around to all the files that 'sshd' likes to use/create and set the permissions properly.
