NEWS: ===== This is a minor bugfix release - more was recompiled against newer versions of libraries so that it can now access large files and no longer has the security flaw of the older regular expression parser libpcre. This package is in need of adoption; I only uploaded a recompilation of a 3-year-old snapshot as a service to fix installation difficulties since the old version depended on the now-obsolete libpcre. Meanwhile, the upstream sources that more was extracted from (the util-linux collection) have reached version 2.13. If you don't like how more was packaged, or want to pick up the upstream patches to more from the newer util-linux, then consider volunteering to be the maintainer. DESCRIPTION: ============ More is a minimal pager. It is provided because POSIX requires more and some old scripts depend on more existing, although it does not yet implement all POSIX-required features. You are probably better off using the 'less' package for your pager. UPDATE: ======= To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Save it and run setup, answer the questions and pick up 'more' from the 'Text' category. DOWNLOAD: ========= Note that downloads from sources.redhat.com (aka cygwin.com) aren't allowed due to bandwidth limitations. This means that you will need to find a mirror which has this update, please choose the one nearest to you: http://cygwin.com/mirrors.html QUESTIONS: ========== If you want to make a point or ask a question the Cygwin mailing list is the appropriate place. - -- Eric Blake CYGWIN-ANNOUNCE UNSUBSCRIBE INFO: ================================= To unsubscribe to the cygwin-announce mailing list, look at the "List-Unsubscribe: " tag in the email header of this message.
