I keep on getting the following error: $ ssh-host-config -y Overwrite existing /etc/ssh_config file? (yes/no) yes Generating /etc/ssh_config file Overwrite existing /etc/sshd_config file? (yes/no) yes Privilege separation is set to yes by default since OpenSSH 3.3. However, this requires a non-privileged account called 'sshd'. For more info on privilege separation read /usr/share/doc/openssh/README.privsep . Should privilege separation be used? (yes/no) yes Generating /etc/sshd_config file Host configuration finished. Have fun! I have created the sshd user under Windows and in cygwin /etc/passwd When I look in the event log under Windows XP I can see this error message: Object Open: Object Server: Security Object Type: Key Object Name: \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-1262546438-923394911-2232506658-29478 Handle ID: - Operation ID: {0,14750546} Process ID: 740 Image File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe Primary User Name: IBTKYGSW84974$ Primary Domain: AD Primary Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7) Client User Name: schouwl Client Domain: AD Client Logon ID: (0x0,0x22D5EC) Accesses: MAX_ALLOWED Privileges: - Restricted Sid Count: 0 Does this ring a bell by anyone? My Windows admin told me it might because there is a limit fo how many open socket connections the Windows XP pro can have open at one time and should try on a server version of Windows.
