It's always a good idea to check permissions on anything that might be used in a program running as service, just to make sure that the SYSTEM user (which is used to run services, a.k.a. LocalSystem) has appropriate access. An aside: one possible useful addition to cygcheck is printing the permission bits when listing the DLLs in verbose mode... Any volunteers to add this functionality?
