Can you read the CDs burnt with a Windows tool? If you have a Linux system, enable verbose logging (I usually use "*.* /dev/tty8" in /etc/syslog.conf, or dmesg -n8 if you already have the necessary entries), try mounting the CD and see whether any messages come.
