I have also tried with XFree86-xserv 4.3.0-44 with same results. Another application that causes the same error-message is cygpath. Just to make sure I'm not doing something wrong when I install the patches, here's what I do: * (From FAQ): unzip cygwin-inst-200402**.tar.bz2 in / and /tmp. Move /tmp/usr/bin/cygwin1.dll to /cygwin/bin * Reboot machine * start cygwin (bash-shell) and run rebaseall -v Thanks, Henrik > Just looked at what was going on in that other thread, and noticed that > the original poster over in that thread, Chih-Yi Kuan, is having this > problem with gdb under stock 1.5.7-1: > > (from gdb under bash) > 3 [main] ? 3552 cygheap_fixup_in_child: Couldn't reserve space > for cygwin's heap (0x61670000 <0x15A0000>) in child, Win32 error 487 > C:\cygwin\bin\gdb.exe (3552): *** m.AllocationBase 0x0, m.BaseAddress > 0x61670000, m.RegionSize 0xB80000, m.State 0x10000 > > While I have the same problem under the 200402** snapshots, but not > under 1.5.7-1. > bash-2.05b$ gdb XWin.exe > 175 [main] ? 1188 cygheap_fixup_in_child: Couldn't reserve space for > cygwin's heap (0x616A0000 <0xCA0000>) in child, Win32 error 487 > C:\cygwin\bin\gdb.exe (1188): *** m.AllocationBase 0x0, m.BaseAddress > 0x616A0000, m.RegionSize 0x1AE0000, m.State 0x10000 -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
