Grepping further: Thomas L Roche us.ibm.com> Dr.. Volkmer Zell all seem to report similar problems. As do many other people. It is highly likely that my problem is the same as those guys report. --- At this point, I am just piling on. Sorry if you consider such an additional problem report a waste of bandwidth; myself, as a software developer I consider bug reports gold; even duplicate bug reports serve to show that a problem is widespread. (How often have you heard developers say "oh, that bug hardly ever occurs" when they have filtered out hundreds of duplicate bug reports?) --- It is unlikely that my configuration adds much helpful info, since others have posted far more detail. Let me briefly summarize: cygwin installed fresh as of yesterday, feb 17, 2004, from ftp.nas.nasa.gov server. cygwin 1.5.7.1 emacs 21.2.12 XFree86 -base 4.3.0-1 -bin 4.3.0-1 -xserv ...-44 emacs crashes occur both multiwindow, and in the single big X window (startx default). -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
