After several uninstalls, re-installs from local drive, re-installs from intenet, complete-installations, default-installations, I am still facing problems. I uninstalled cygwin following the steps detailed in the FAQ. Then I downloaded setup.exe from cygwin.com and tried to install it. These were the steps : >Install from local directory. >Root Dir : c:\cygwin; Install for : All Users. Default Text type : Tried >both Unix and Dos I get an error about illegal operation / invalid page fault and the application crashes. Nothing is registered in any log file.
