Could someone help me with the following problem?

I have installed the latest cygwin distribution as of 11/25/2003 which 
currently has rsync 2.5.6.  When I do rsync -v -e /bin/ssh /tmp/x 
otherhost:/tmp I get:
Failed to dup/close : Socket operation on non-socket
rsync error: error in IPC code (code 14) at /tmp/rsync-2.5.5/util.c(148)
rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at /tmp/rsync-
2.5.5/io.c(162)
Also I have '/bin/ssh otherhost' working fine with no need to enter the 
password.   I cannot figure out why rsync is not working.
