Why can't all the announcements contain those information? Take a look on recent messages about file-4.06-1 or xmlto-0.0.16-1. "I've updated the version of file to 4.06-1.", and some standard stuff about installation. Why should I update the program? What has been changed? Sometimes even downloading a package can't help as NEWS file are not always included. If a release required some work, why not let the users know so they can appreciate it? I hope that the maintainers will be more descriptive in future.
