I have noticed an oddity in the behaviour of the cp command.  It gives
an incorrect error message when I try to copy an .exe file but refer to it
without the .exe suffix:

cp calc /usr/local/bin/calc.new

This produces the incorrect message:

cp: calc and /usr/local/bin/calc.new are the same file.

The mv command also shows the bug.
