General help in bash, for installed (cygwin/Linux/GNU) commands:

$ help <bash-internal command>
$ info <installed command>
$ man <installed command>

Replace <mumble-mumble> with anything that is suitable. Google for "beginner
+bash +prompt" or some such for more info.
