To: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I'm sure this question has been asked many times, but I couldn't find the solution in the archives. I've been using Cygwin for a few years now, and the install has always worked great. Today I started getting the following error when I installed it (at my new job): Error (2): The system cannot find the file specified. Your username or group hasn't been setup correctly. This typically happens if you are a domain user (cygwin does not automatically create /etc/passwd or /etc/group for domain users) In /etc/group, I have: mkgroup_l_d:S-1-5-21-3941461891-1737259440-******-513:10513: In /etc/passwd, I have: mraible:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:11187:10513:mraible,U-LAF\mraible,S-1-5-21-*****-1187:/cygdrive/c/Documents and Settings/mraible:/bin/bash Here's some relevant output from "cygcheck -svr" C:\Tools\cygwin\bin\id.exe output (nontsec) UID: 11187(mraible) GID: 10513(mkgroup_l_d) 10513(mkgroup_l_d) C:\Tools\cygwin\bin\id.exe output (ntsec) UID: 11187(mraible) GID: 10513(mkgroup_l_d) 544(Administrators) 547(Power Users) 545(Users) 10513(mkgroup_l_d) Thanks, Matt __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
