A search engine that uses boolean logic (or something like Google) would help a lot. I solved this problem by putting ". .bashrc" at the end of the /etc/profile. My experience with Cygwin is that it is very unstable. Every new release introduces new bugs. How about getting to a stable version and keeping it available instead of making everyone download the latest build? -----Original Message----- From: Larry Hall [mailto:cygwin-lh AT cygwin DOT com] Sent: Friday, June 13, 2003 11:42 AM To: Schulze, Dean Cc: 'cygwin AT cygwin DOT com' Subject: Re: Bash 2.05 not reading my ~/.bashrc Schulze, Dean wrote: > Just installed the latest Cygwin release and the bash shell > (2.05b.0(9)-release) does not read my $HOME/.bashrc file. > > The HOME env. variable was not set when I installed Cygwin so I set it > later.
