I had the same problem on win2k and winxp. I was a long time McAfee 6 user...I just did not install the firewall. With McAfee 7, also without the firewall, I had ssh problems (ssh-agent and I believe sshd). When I looked at the logs and the source, I saw that McAfee was interfering with socket connect operations (as I recall...it has been a while). McAfee technical support was no help and I asked McAfee for a refund...they agreed to do so. I am now a Norton user. ...Karl >From: Michael Jervis >To: "'cygwin AT cygwin DOT com'" >Subject: sshd on W2K with Mcafee Anti-Virus 7 >Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 12:04:05 +0100 > >I'm running the system in the subject. > >I've found various threads saything that with Mcafee firewall 7 they can't >run SSHD properly, I am running A/V7 and have the same (or a very similar >problem). > >I've disabled HAWK Script/HAWK email in the anti-virus but the problem is >still occurring. > >Does anyone have a work round with A/V? > >Cheers, > >Mike > >-- >Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple >Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html >Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html >FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ > _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
