Persico Matthew, If you still want to get to the bottom of this, one crucial part of that you missed is attaching the output of "cygcheck -svr" to your message. Among other things, that output contains the list of packages that were actually installed, so it would have been the basis to confirm or deny Harold's guess about you being unlucky. FYI, if you ever want to see yourself exactly which packages you installed through setup.exe, run "cygcheck -c". NNTR if this issue is closed for you.
