Read more at GNATS database http://gcc.gnu.org/cgi-bin/gnatsweb.pl?database=gcc in PR9601 [i386] -mrtd switch/stdcall attribute raises warnings for __builtin functions The __cdecl attribute in headers cause the warning when used with -mrtd. If the __cdecl qualifiers were not in headers, you would have even bigger problems with -mrtd, since the libarary functions would be treated as stdcall as well.
