I'm using an earlier version of RPM to build it. RPM configures a number of sub-directories. I'm having intermittant failures in configure. Usually the failure is while configuring db3, but I've seen the same failures while configuring popt. The failure looks like the following: configure: configuring in db3 configure: running /bin/sh '../../db3/configure' --prefix=/opt/hardhat/host '--host=i686-pc-cygwin' '--prefix=/opt/hardhat/host' '--exec-prefix=/opt/hardhat/host' '--bindir=/opt/hardhat/host/bin' '--sbindir=/opt/hardhat/host/bin' '--sysconfdir=/opt/hardhat/host/etc' '--datadir=/opt/hardhat/host/share' '--includedir=/opt/hardhat/host/include' '--libdir=/opt/hardhat/host/lib' '--libexecdir=/opt/hardhat/host/libexec' '--localstatedir=/opt/hardhat/host/var' '--sharedstatedir=/opt/hardhat/host/share' '--mandir=/opt/hardhat/host/man' '--infodir=/opt/hardhat/host/info' '--disable-rpath' '--without-python' '--without-javaglue' 'CFLAGS=-g -DRELOCATE' 'CXXFLAGS=-O2' 'host_alias=i686-pc-cygwin' --cache-file=/dev/null --srcdir=../../db3 configure: error: invalid feature name: rpath mv: cannot stat `Makefile': No such file or directory cat: Makefile.orig: No such file or directory mv: cannot stat `db.h': No such file or directory cat: db.h.orig: No such file or directory make: *** No rule to make target `listobjs'. Stop. configure: error: /bin/sh '../../db3/configure' failed for db3 (Most times configure stops after the error about rpath without the errors from mv or cat.) If I cd to the db3 build directory that is being configured and run the same command, it works OK and rpath is accepted as a feature. Usually, after I do this, I can re-run the build from the start and it works OK. I've attached the output from "cygcheck -s". Hope it gets through the forwarder. Anyone have a clue about what might be causing this or how to localize this better? -- Michael Eager Eager Consulting eager AT eagercon DOT com 1960 Park Blvd., Palo Alto, CA 94306 650-325-8077
